Surrealist galleries: Pencil
drawings: Unicorns
One of many pencil drawings in the online surrealist galleries,
this one draws on: unicorns. Many early works (pre 1995) place fairies,
unicorns, etc., in a fantasy art setting. Later artwork uses the same
motifs, just in a tangibly surrealistic way. So, what is surreal art?
According to the American Heritage Dictionary, surreal: having an oddly
dreamlike quality. This pencil sketch about unicorns comes out of the
period when my pencil collection started growing. My high school art teacher
made me collect pencils and promise to use more than one for each drawing.
If you're an artist, try it! Expand your graphite palette and check out
the DIFFERENCE it makes :) PLEASE NOTE: the frames were purposefully distressed
for effect. Click here to return to the

& spice" © Chris Eisenbraun 1983.
This is a close-up view of an original pencil drawing focused
on the bond between unicorns and maidens. When looked at in a symbolic
sort of way, unicorns and maidens are a very interesting subject indeed
(and way too deep a thought for this little space <g>). Fairies,
unicorns and mermaids (etc.) are favored symbols used throughout all of
the art galleries found on this art website. This particular set of surrealist
galleries contains quite a few drawings and sketches of unicorns. Price,
dimensions, artist notes, shipping details (etc.), for this original piece
of unicorn art can be found on the artwork gallery page -- click
here to return there :)
