Surreal art galleries: Pen
& ink sketch: Fairy pictures
The online surreal art galleries contain a matched set
of fairy pictures: an original pen & ink sketch (below) and an acrylic
based oil painting. One subject, two different fairy pictures :) Fairies
are mythological symbols from deep within us. This makes fairies very
potent symbols indeed, and most excellent fodder for surreal art :) Originally
created as a wedding present for a friend, I changed my mind and gave
another sketch instead. This is the earliest posted work of art in the
fairy pictures category and only uses one inking technique: crosshatching.
PLEASE NOTE: the frames were purposefully distressed for effect. Click
here to return to the pen & ink sketch (first of two fairy pictures).

afternoon--study" © Chris Eisenbraun 1985.
This is a close-up view of an original piece of fairy art,
one of many fairy pictures located throughout the online drawing and painting
galleries. Early pieces put the fairies (symbols) in fantasy based settings
whereas later works are much more surrealistic. Price, dimensions, artist
notes, shipping details (etc.), for this original piece of art can be
found on the artwork gallery page -- click
here to return there :)
