Cornucopia...
Cornucopia, also known as the "Horn of
Plenty." A traditional American use of the horn is as
a symbol for the Thanksgiving holiday. The American representation
has the horn more as a wicker basket overflowing with fruits
and vegetables. Compare that to the American Heritage®
dictionary definition: "a goat's horn overflowing with
fruit, flowers, and grain, signifying prosperity." It's
interesting how symbols grow and change through the years,
some pieces are added and some are lost. Also used to represent
Fall, the time of the year when the crops come in and the
fruits of harvest are found in abundance.

Dictionary
of Symbolism, p. 76
An attribute of FLORA and FORTUNA, and a symbol of inexhaustible
bounty freely bestowed upon mortals; a GOAT'S horn, from which
fruit and other refreshing gifts pour endlessly. In Greek
myth it belonged to Amalthea (a nymph with the form of a goat),
who nursed the infant Zeus in a cave on the island of Crete
and provided him with he needed to survive. Hercules fought
with the RIVER god Achelous, who had the form of a BULL, and
broke off one of his horns; he generously returned the horn
to his defeated opponent, who gave him Amalthea's horn of
plenty in return. The use of horns as vessels of liquid offerings
(libations) is documented even in prehistoric representations
(e.g., the VENUS of Laussel).
