Artist sketches: Woodcut engraving style: CD cover art
One of the more unusual artist sketches on display in the online drawing gallery, this woodcut engraving style work of art is very simplistic in comparison to the other (more baroque) artist sketches. This specially commissioned CD cover art is in the woodcut engraving style, based on a request for a simple, rustic, black & white design for an Indie release, acoustic music CD :) This particular style is quite a stretch from my norm ...and has involved evolving an entirely new way of looking at the subject matter (one that subtracts most of the detail instead of focusing on and featuring the very minuscule<lol>). TRANSLATION: there has been a LOT of cussing involved <g>. Oh well, it's good to raise the bar and get out of your comfort zone every once in a while :) It's really the only way to see how far you CAN go!
