Art site: Surreal
pen drawings: Fairy pics
The first in a series of fairy pics, comprised of VERY
surreal pen drawings, and the very first works put on display when this
art site went online. Out of the fire, a distinct art style has been borne:
contemporary surreal symbolism. The first three surreal pen drawings in
the series feature a number of things in common: the combination of three
separate inking techniques, the fairy, a torn queen of hearts playing
card and the i-fish. The fourth, concluding work (2004) in this series
is a much simpler surreal pen drawing. Each of the fairy pics features
the main fairy somewhat differently (where and how the fairy wings appear
are the clue).

This is a close-up view of one of many surreal pen drawings,
an assortment of surreal fairy pics on display in the online art galleries.
These fairy pics (a series of four surreal pen drawings) illustrate an
emerging contemporary surreal symbolist art style. A number of important
works come into being during this period of artistic development (1995-1997).
